My approach

A session…

Hello and a very warm welcome to you. Below is an overview of how I practice.

Compassion and curiosity are central to my approach. I draw on my experiences of navigating the terrain of my own life and working with individuals and groups in exploring theirs over the last 15 years. I am undoubtedly indebted to all those who have gone before me and to the many teachers who have inspired me in both a formal and informal way. I am deeply grateful for and to the land and earth upon which I offer this work.

Formally, I have training in narrative transformational coaching, embodied coaching, yoga, breathwork, meditation, positive psychology, and mindful self-compassion. I have also spent a decade working as an occupational therapist in the NHS with both patients and more latterly with NHS staff in the areas of mental health, well being and people development through crafting and facilitating self-leadership and personal-professional development workshops and programs. Over the last 5 years I have expanded into private work where I also work online as a narrative coach with people identifying as neurodiverse in the areas of high sensitivity and ADHD.

This work has given me further insight into the inner dynamic tension that is always playing out between our being nature and doing nature.

The sessions I offer can be facilitated and/either indoors and/or outdoors amongst the wild ones and elements in the beautiful land of the Scottish Borders where I live.

My approach.

I aim to facilitate spaces that are nurturing and challenging, for when we have safety, we have a root from which to grow, express and expand into previously unknown skies of our lives.

I offer 1:1 sessions and workshops that aim to support stuck energy and narratives to be given s p a c e.

Space to breathe, space to be felt, and space to be explored. In my experience when we dare to turn towards the very ‘thing’ that has been running us, we can expand the possibility for light - and in doing so alchemy has the potential to rise. What we resist, deflect, minimise, and ignore will always find its way to the surface. We can find ourselves stuck in unhelpful and repetitive patterns. The mind loves the deceptive comfort of familiarity - but nature shows us again and again, that diversity and movement (the seasons) are vital in order for new life to bud and bloom.

In our work together we tend to the previously unseen and unheard. We might explore practices that support deeper inner listening to the stuck emotions and narratives held within our bodymind. For when this stuck energy is allowed to move, alchemy and transformation become possible.

Examples of practices are body based (somatic) practices, breathwork, narrative inquiry, nature connection and journalling.

My approach is intuitive and therefore practices are never prescriptive and are always unique to the person.

On a more personal level…

I am originally from Ireland and I believe that our ancestors and the land we live on are alive and available to help guide us on our way - when we remember to listen and attune. I am a creative, and have been dwelling in the question of what does it mean to be alive and live a life well lived for as long as I can remember. I adore nature, being outside, unbridled self-expression and going on adventures. I am passionate about being part of the collective energy working towards re-sourcing the well of the Divine Feminine on earth.
